Why 25 year old women?

Because this is a transitory age by which women are considered as independent adults, and by which life’s construction is starting.  In France, this is a period of life, where a lot of women enter into the working life, whereas in other countries they have been already working for a long time and maybe even have a family of their own.  It seems important for us to compare these destinies at this age of 25, in order to show their differences but also their resemblances, all these things which lead their personal project to success. Besides, being ourself also born in 1981, these encounters will be based on true exchange and understanding, for being part of these women turning 25 in 2006.

Why women?

Because we believe women carry the future of our planet.  It is mainly through women that culture, education, values are transmitted.

Because their status varies so much according the country they are living in, there is a lot to understand and to learn via women, and thanks to their personal project, we will be able to appreciate their condition.  

Because to talk about women means also to enlighten the existing injustice they might suffer, varying from one country to the other, and get to know their feelings about it.
 

Why «positive projects»?

Because the goal of the 81 women association is really to encourage the women we will meet during our world trip but also other women, who are about to build their life. Because attending the realisation of these women dreams without occulting the difficulties they had to face, is to value them and give others the energy to act. The idea is not to idealise women or show the nice side of their life, but to explain how they managed to achieve their project despite obstacles. Thanks to their personal experience, we would then be able to dig out the question of the woman’s status in our modern societies.
